On top at Victory. This was a hard beer to rate and its not fair because it was a good beer for what it is, but in regards to my taste I did not like it as much as I like the Donnybrook (which giving it the respect it deservces is a completely different style). So for the style it was good, but I would prefer otherones that I have had.

Dec 27, 2009 Great beer. Serious beer. Brewmaster has taken to heart the whole idea behind Imperial Stout. It is this beer. Poured with a nice sized tan head and good lace. Color is an opaque dark brown to almost black. Aroma is interesting; malty, roasty, good hop, yeast, old cheese, dark ripe fruit,& burnt sugar. Flavor’s much the same except I really pick up the alcohol, mmm maybe more in the warmth than the flavor. Body is there, but not too heavy and certainly not light. Finish is all that flavor and booze and not too long. Couldn’t really see it as a session although it sure is good.

Dec 27, 2009 Poured opaque black, with tan head. Nose is coffee. Taste is chocolate and coffee with bitter hops rounding it out. Nicely balanced. Delicious.

Dec 27, 2009 Bottle. Brown black colour with a tan head. Aroma is dry, coffe, roasted, malt, alcohol, chocolate. Flavour is dry , roasted malt, coffee, alcohol, chocolate. Full body. well balanced nice beer.

Dec 24, 2009 Fabulous beer. Inky black, tan head with nice lacing. Full-bodied malty aroma. The flavor at first is remarkably light but the follow through is an almost explosive roasted flavor that really lingers, each sip a sensation. Wish I had more!

Dec 23, 2009 Pours a deep, oily black with little to no head. Complex, smoky aroma. Flavors include some chocolate, coffee, burned grain, smoke. Very bitter finish. Very glad to have the chance to try one.

Dec 18, 2009 Bottle (35 cl) at Ölrepubliken, Göteborg, Sweden. Black with a rich beige head. Chocolate roasted malt aroma with notes of coffee and salmiak. Medium bodied and smooth. Dry with a bitter, slightly salty finish. Well balanced and very drinkable.

Dec 14, 2009 Warm chocolate syrup nose with hints of coffee, molasses, and tobacco pipe smoke. Deep black color with a hint of amber, massive deep tan meringue like head. Rich roasted malt sweetness, very spicy clove bitterness, nicely balanced. Medium carbonation, full bodied, chewy mouth feel, long roasty toasty warming finish. Pretty intense beer, the spicy notes and lack of that sometimes overly bitter burnt roasted malt characteristic in some Imperial Stouts make this stand out.

Dec 13, 2009 Chilled in a pint glass. It pours pitch black with a thick head that lingers. The aroma is very hoppy and floral with lasting french roast coffee nose. Taste is roasted/charred malt with strong coffee and bittersweet chocolate tones. Its really a nice beer to have on a cold winter day.
Oh yea, this beer can also take age well. The hop aroma drops some and you are left with a slightly fatter stout.
