| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 17, 2006 Super malty aroma, I was expecting a mean doppelbock-tasting beer. Pruney, woody. Buffered acidity, parched grain, light cocoa, chalkiness. Slow-building alcohol and woody bitterness, which never gets out of hand. A fairly distinctive brew, but it lacks the grassy "German" character that I look for in an alt. Finish built and built and eventually became intolerable. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Had a bottle last night and it was pretty good. Nice spicy hop flavors as well as roasted malt character. bigrond (1048), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 10, 2006 a very nice beer to sip slowly and savor. Not the best verison of this style but it is a fairly good reprsentation. I might stick with other victory brews over this one thought. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 9, 2006 A great strong brew. Has a nice dark golden/amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is slightly floral with a definate hop pressence. Taste is very assertive, with a strong hop flavor at first, giving way to a strong, but not overpowering alcohol flavor, and nice smooth finish. Also got a bottle that says, "Enjoy by Aug 01 2006," and it’s September. YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 9, 2006 Nice amber color, small head leaving some laces on the glass. Light sweet malt and caramel nose. Some grain taste, medium hoppy that lasts medium long. Ok - nothing special but solid. Trooper11 (466), Suffolk, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Not sure how well this one cellars, just noticed the bottle says, "Enjoy by Aug 01 2006 and I am pretty sure I bought it after that date. Well, here goes, pours a cloudy copper color with long lasting thick foamy head. Aroma of sweet hops with notes of pear, kind of grainy. Taste is heavy, spicy, finishing with a bitter dryness. Very roasted bitter, slight warm finish. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Bottle. Quite a strong alt, with a fair bit of caramelly sweetness and slight nuttiness, finish has some grassyness from the hops, but the malt sweetnes probably stands out the most.
