The aroma is sweet carmel and brown sugar. Flavors were a somewhat spicy carmel malt with nuts and brown sugar with a piney/grassy finish. A very good Alt. dolemike1 (1129), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2006 12 oz bottle. Copper pour with an off white head. Sweet, malty brown sugar nose, with some spices and floral hops peeking through. Medium bitter with a big malt backbone, spices really shine in the finish. Another winner from Downingtown! 1FastSTi (2588), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 16, 2006 Pours to a nice copper body with a thick beige head. The aroma is vanilla cookies (Nila Waffers) and floral/perfumey hops. The flavor is floral, soapy, perfumey, caramel, odd woodsy toastyness. Also, a bitter pineyness s present. The palate is bitter and medium bodied. Un-necessarily bitter. Ughsmash (4080), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 15, 2006 Bottled.. enjoy by 8/10/06. Poured a rich, medium coppery-caramel with a couple inches of beige headage. Very interesting nose... flowery notes meet lightly-toasted dark malts meet spices. A lot in there, but a floral/woodsy aspect stuck out the most. Flavor profile had a spicy and caramel malt backing, with bright woody and alcoholly sparkle all around the tongue. Light-bodied, yet heavy feel on the palate, gaining thickness toward the back. Finish was of dark fruits, caramel, earth, spices and alcohol. Tasty and complex. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 15, 2006 Bottle. Pours a deep amber minus much head. Caramel and vanilla essences on the nose. Mouthfeel is thick, fruit and a little hops with a sprinkle of sweet. There was another flavor that alt-ered the taste of this brew which I could not put my finger on. However, I did not mind it all. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 14, 2006 Pours out brown with not very much head. Taste is sweet, malty, and fruity. Has a nice spicy hop flavor to it as well. Certainly a good beer, though it is something that does have a slightly awkward flavor. Not bad jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2006 12oz. bottle best by 8/02/06. Slightly hazy dark amber color with a medium sized beige head. Mild toasted malt aroma with an odd metallic scent and a hint of hops. Rich malty, fruity flavor with the hops being much more apparent than in the aroma. Strong alcoholic finish makes the hop bitterness really stand out. Good, but really not to my tastes. Thanks Cornboy for giving me a bottle so I didn’t have to buy a sixer myself.
