Commercial Description:
The Victory version of this ‘secret’ offering is inspired by the rich brewing heritage of the alt beers. It is a dark ale exhibiting the love of hops and mastery of malt that Victory has displayed for 10 years. Initially assertive with spicy hops, Ten Years Alt concludes ever so comfortably in rich, roasted malts and burnished hop character.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Aroma of caramel and aroma hops. Fairly full body with lots of caramel malt and a very bitter finish. But Altbier? At 8.5% ABV?? No way. 160806

[Bottled, thanks chris_o!] Amber colour. Ashy nose. Sweetish with clean, rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Finishes with some salty licorice. A bit shallow in character.

Orangey head. Large Munich malt aroma full of biscuits and breadcrust. Richly caramelly, sweet Munich overdose. A shade husky/minerally. Decent, but perhaps too assertive for my taste.

Beautiful amber color. Aroma of caramel. Strong mouthfeel, strong taste of dark caramel, almost burnt sugar, molasses. Good and powerful, but the bitterness in the end is too strong.

Cloudy amber with a medium off head. Aroma was sweet with plums, roasted malt and figs. Flavour had dark fruits, caramel and roasted malt. Somewhat oxydized and it had warning alcohol.
