fozapd (33), Burlington, New Jersey, USA Jul 18, 2007 Victory Ten Years Alt was an interesting Alt beer. It poured an almost brown colored body with an off white head. The aroma was pleasant with notes of spices, and malts. The taste was malty but with a notable smoky finish. This isn’t a bad alt but I didn’t enjoy the smoky finish in my alt.
corby112 (314), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 3, 2008 Pours a dark amber/ chestnut brown color with a thin tan/ yellowish head. Malty aroma with hints of hazelnut and subtle hops. Nicely balanced with a strong malty flavor evening out the hops, chocolate and roasted nuts. Much more complex than the usual suspects in this style. halfonit (97), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA Nov 2, 2008 I’ve had better brews from this company. This one’s not too bad but nowhere near some of the other ones I’ve had. Has a strong malt scent with subtle hints of hops (which seems to be Victory’s bread and butter). Tastes mainly of malts. Has a strong malt aftertaste that isn’t too pleasant to me. But it’s not a bad thing, I personally am not a malt flavor type of person. I’m happy to have tried this one out. glennmastrange (462), hobe sound, Florida, USA Oct 31, 2008 Bottle. Moderate aromas all around with nutty and caramel for the malt, pine for the hops, earth for the yeast, and raisin, butter and brown sugar in the background. Head is frothy, light brown, with good lacing and is moslty diminishing. Color is hazy verging on murky caramel. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, and the long finish is lightly acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is medium to full, creamy and has a lively carbonation. An excellent balance in flavors and aromas, this is the best Altbier I’ve had. No surprise from Victory. otismulligan (11), Yardley, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 10, 2008 This is what good beer is about. Bottles poured a nice creme head, cloudy carmel red color. Mild hoppy odor with sweet floral undertones. Tasted medium body, creamy body. Nice long after tastesweet and bitty. EricE (288), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Sep 20, 2008 Clear orange-brown pour with a fluffy white head and nice carbonation and lacing on the glass. Sweet caramel and molasses aroma with some yeasty bread notes. Very sweet and syrupy. Malty flavor with caramel, molasses, and chocolate milk. Intense bitter hops dominate the finish. Bitterness lingers on the tongue for a while. Hides the alcohol well. Not bad, but too syrupy.
