fredandboboflo (717), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 17, 2008 Cask to nitro at Blind Tiger. Aroma has a mild but distinguished bitterness with grassy, soapy/perfumy, and floral notes. Flavor a wonderful mix of fruity sweetness and that perfumy bitterness. The nitro weakens the palate and strips away that cask-conditioned feel. Greatly enjoyable, but I’m confident I would have absolutely loved it without the nitro middle man.
Goodgrief (1068), Middletown, Delaware, USA Nov 27, 2008 On cask at the brewpub. Pale orange with a sweet and floral nose. The beer smells delicious. Served at the perfect temperature, too. Caramel malt sweetness with a bit of breadiness and some toasty hops with a lingering grapefruit presence on the tongue. Smooth and delicious with the a temperate level of bitterness. moseslikesbeer (176), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 26, 2008 cask at the Downingtown brewpub. Very creamy head great color and aroma. A bit on the hoppy side but not too much. Kind of like an English Bitter with a little bit of hops for good measure. I hope to have this again. nimbleprop (602), Washington, Washington DC, USA Oct 17, 2008 Had several 20 ounce pints of this on cask at CommonWealth in DC. Pours a hazy, translucent orange, copper with a creamy, frothy slightly off white head. Aroma of oranges, lemons, biscuits, some soap and a little pine. Mild flavor has grapefruit, oranges, crackers and sugar cookies. Flat in the mouth, thanks to the cask, a little chalky with lasting bitterness. Good session beer. puzzl (1901), New York, New York, USA Jul 20, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Nitro pour, from what the owner said was a cask. Huh? Anyway, this had a mild soap, amber aroma, lightly hoppy. Disappointing pour for what was claimed to be nitro. Very mild flavor, hop-forward and overly carbonated. Decent if not dull.
