Commercial Description:
A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that's Whirlwind Witbier. Offering a tamed tempest of flavors both spicy and sublime, this softly fermented ale greets the nose and tingles the tongue. Imported Belgian yeast charges Whirlwind with an energy all its own. It is a refreshing interpretation of the classic, Belgian 'white beer' style.

Appearance was typical of a wit beer, hazy, orangy, with a thin head. Aroma was very citrusy, lemon and orange. Not a bad wit beer, expected from Victory. Good for a summer day.

Sampled on 12/11/08. This wit beer pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is citrus, coriander, wheat and some yeast. A medium bodied wit. The malts are wheaty, cereal and fruity. The hops are spicy and floral. Lot of citrus, orange peel and coriander flavors in this wit beer. Lots of little bubbles in the carbonation. Nice balance. Lots of citrus flavors in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with some citrus.

Faint clove aroma. Pours a clear hazy amber, not much head, chunky sediment. Flavor leads with clove, citrus, and coriander, moves towards whole wheat, finishes biscuity.

Pours a cloudy golden yellowish/ orange color with a very thin head. Spicy aroma with hints of citrus orange and lemon peel and banana. Very smooth and crisp with spicy pepper, lemon zest, citrus peel and banana flavor. Slight malt presence as well. Aftertast is a bit metallic and soapy though.

12oz bottle. Pours a cloudy (almost opaque) yellow/gold with a thick but shortlived white head. The aroma is mostly wheat with some citrus notes (herbal citrus - from coriander). The flavor follows the nose: wheaty and dry - like flaked, unmalted grain - with some herbal spiciness and citrus. The finish is dry and refreshing with a touch of coriander and a very light bitterness. The mouthfeel is crisp and vigorously carbonated with a medium body. Overall, a very plain witbier. Not bad, but kind of boring...

Wheat scent with a moderate fruit presence, cloudy golden color with an off white head, crisp refreshing flavor that begs for the return of summer, a tad light for a belgian white, flavor lasted adequately, overall a beer that I would pick up again on a lazy warm day.

On tap at Victory and by the bottle. This is a decent wit beer. The flavour is nice with subtle hints of spice. Overall its a drinkable beer although I do have my witbier favs I would add this one to my rounds.
