Commercial Description:
A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that's Whirlwind Witbier. Offering a tamed tempest of flavors both spicy and sublime, this softly fermented ale greets the nose and tingles the tongue. Imported Belgian yeast charges Whirlwind with an energy all its own. It is a refreshing interpretation of the classic, Belgian 'white beer' style.

Pale wheaty whit. With citrus notes. Ok for a whit beer but nothing special.

A cloudy pour with volcanic carbonation that stirs up the yeast sediment. A white head with a brown spot in the middle from that sediment. Nose is nice with banana and clove, both prominent themes in the flavor, too. Throw in some bubblegum and some earthiness and some lemon pudding. This is almost a great beer but falls just short. More flavor would help and that earthiness was a tad too "dirty" tasting. Still, I did like it quite a lot and found it refreshing and enjoyable.

In certain parts of the US of A, and the world in general, whirlwinds are not a pleasant occurrence. In fact, they are dreaded and regarded with the utmost respect for their magnificently destructive powers. Thankfully, the whirlwind before me is anything but destructive. I would be speaking thus of the Whirlwind Wit from Victory Brewing, a Belgian style wit beer. Seeing as spring has set upon the sunny state of Florida, I can’t think of a better way to kick back, relax, and revive.

She descended from above a swirling, frothing tornado of milky white and creamy gold hues into my tall hefeweizen glass. Sporting a thick cloud of white, her natural forces set to work wooing my senses. Spice, lots of orange peel, and a sprinkling of coriander tickle and tease my nose while cloves whisper amongst themselves in the background. Permeating her aromatic presence is orange, both in the acidic rind and in the sweet pulpy meat inside. Joining the cloves are soft fields of wheat, gentle to the touch and just a wee bit shy. I am in Belgian Wit heaven right now, and it is beautiful. Victory Brewing does good beer, though, and based on her nose, I have high expectations for her palate. Soft, zippy, and zesty, lemon, orange peel and coriander strike first upon a soothing maelstrom of wheat and warm white bread. The top of my tongue tingles and tickles, while her mouthfeel picks up a bit of the lemon for some freshly whipped lemon cream. Her spices hit the middle of my palate and then step aside before reappearing in my breath after each thirsty quaff. Whirlwind Wit is refreshing, light, easy and breezy. The faint tinge of clove that was in her nose is nowhere evident in her palate. Once more Victory Brewing is victorious.

I really want to see Victory Brewing in Florida, granted they take on the appropriate distributor. Having one’s beer in your home state is all well and good, but if the distributor doesn’t handle it properly, or at all, then furthering the availability of one’s beer becomes rather irrelevant. Until Victory graces the shores of Florida, I shall enjoy her liquid nectar whenever I am lucky enough to take some in.

Pale cloudy straw yellow with a evaporating thin white head. Aroma of coriander, lemongrass , Belgian yeast and light fruit. Taste of wheat, lemongrass, light fruit and mild spicy yeast. Flavors are mildly muted due to age and it has a light oily mouthfeel.

Really enjoyed this one. Citrus with wheat and coriander spice. Perfect combination of flavor and texture. A thin but highly carbonated beer. Typical light yellow cloudy/hazy appearance for a witbier. Definitely a winner for this style.

Slight aroma of citrus with a touch of spice. Pours a cloudy pale yellow, with about a finger of fluffy white head. Crisp flavor, a touch of tartness, and a nice wheat note. Very light palate, and a great summer beer.
