Commercial Description:
A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that's Whirlwind Witbier. Offering a tamed tempest of flavors both spicy and sublime, this softly fermented ale greets the nose and tingles the tongue. Imported Belgian yeast charges Whirlwind with an energy all its own. It is a refreshing interpretation of the classic, Belgian 'white beer' style.

Yes, the whirlwind. 12 oz brown bottle. Pours this, like any wheat, into a clear glass and observe the hypnotizing effect this stuff has on the human brain, swirling attention grabbing clouds of yeast…yummy. . Been waiting a while to taste this brew. The pour starts clear then turns cloudy as you get near the bottom of the bottle. After you pour, you get that desirable sludge on the bottom of the bottle. The color is brownish light pale yellow. The aroma is that of mild wheat beer, how else can I describe it? Mildly citrusy and wheaty. The taste is very gentlemanlike but has a interesting nip to it that is unique to this beer. Taste is like a whitbeer but may be a little more down the alley of hefeweizen. An interesting witbeir to say the least. Right up there with the likes of the rest of the whitbeirs. Hides the alcohol content rather well. There is no bitter linger in this beer, refreshing and enjoyable. Similar in texture and feel as the Sunrise Victory beer. Pretty good but not on par with hogaarden and wittekirke, good try tho.

Turbid yellow pour. Fizzy white head. Aroma is of light honey, wheat, oranges, dusty yeast, light grassy hops, limited spice and even more limited soapy esters. Flavor is much the same, moderately acidic and clean, wheat and citrus dominant. Finishes light and dry. Palate is thin and uninteresting, though very smooth and relaxed. Boring.

Bottle at Sharp Edge Creekhouse in Crafton, PA. Pours a hazy pale straw, with a white head. Nice wheaty and spicy aroma (orange zest and coriander). Medium light texture and mouthfeel. Aroma carries into the flavor, which has moderate sweetness and notes of orange peel, coriander, wheat malt, and banana. Clean and smooth finish. Solid wit beer. Victory rarely disappoints me. Perhaps a little more malt backbone would make this even better.

Pours out a light orangey/lemon color, very hazy with moderate yeasty aroma. Flavor of cloves, biscuity yeast and lemony spices. Nice and smooth witbier, this has become my favorite witbier style beer. Like I have said before, I love these Victory beers!

12oz bottle. Aroma of some spice and malt. Smooth palate with lost of yeast, wheat, and some coriander. Nice beer, one of my favorite sessions and wits.

Bottle shared by sliffy I think? Yellow pour with a white head. Aroma held a bit of funk, some corriander and yeast. Flavor was spicy with yeast and light banana notes coming through. As you’d expect, a light body with a clean finish.

Nice and crisp. Just a bit sweet. Very refreshing. Never warmed up because it went down fast and easy. Worth a try.

From a 12 oz bottle with a "enjoy by" date of 25 Oct 06 ... oops, I’m a little late. Light yellow with a nice strata of bubbles rising to a thin airy head. The aroma is slightly yeasty, somewhat sweet and inviting. The first swallow was nicely fruity, lemony without any citric acidity. The characteristics carry thru the whole glass. Don’t think the somewhat lack of freshness hurt this one at all. Nice light Wit. (#2737, 3/7/2007)
