Commercial Description:
A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that's Whirlwind Witbier. Offering a tamed tempest of flavors both spicy and sublime, this softly fermented ale greets the nose and tingles the tongue. Imported Belgian yeast charges Whirlwind with an energy all its own. It is a refreshing interpretation of the classic, Belgian 'white beer' style.

Pours a light yellow with a small white head. Light aroma of spice, citrus, and banana. Slightly sour flavor. Not very impressive.

Bottle purchased at Breeze-Thru liquor in Wauwatosa, and drank one day after its expiration date. Appearance reminded me of a carbonated lemonade. It was vaguely cloudy and rather yellow. Not a lot of head, and what was there didn’t stick around for too long. Not as enticing to the eye as say a Wittekerke I had awhile back, but fortunately there is more to the story. Smell was pretty good. I thought I picked up coriander notes and definitely something citrusy/sour, which indicated good things were ahead. Taste was also pretty good. Tasted like a wit should (from what I know), and I tasted spice and coriander. Not the best witbier I’ve had, but pretty good. There wasn’t anything artificial-tasting in this wit, which can’t be said for others (Blue Moon). The label claimed Belgian yeast...but I’m not refined enough to detect those sorts of things.

Bottle with a best by date of 10/25/2006. Slightly hazy golden body with a small white head. Musty coriander and grainy wheat malt in both the aroma and flavor - blah overall.

Very pale, with a slightly acidic citrus aroma & coriander. Very light wheat malt flavor, thin and not much spicyness. Overall bland. :(

Bottle. Poured cloudy yellow with an average frothy white head that diminished slowly wuth good lacing. Moderate spicy sour citrus aroma. Light to medium body. Medium sour flavor with a medium sour finish of average duration. Refreshing soft beer.

Bottle: Aroma is very nice, but much milder than I was expecting. Banana, yeast, and wheat are the most prominent aromas ... overall it creates a very marinara pasta sauce smell. This odd aroma stems from a hazy yellow beer with some sediment, yeasty haze, and a little snow capped white head. The flavor is a little bit of that marinara sauce, yeast, clove, etc. Despite a lager-like bie, its a smoth beer. Spices would be the one word to describe this beer. My beer lacked the prevelent citrus everyone speaks about.

An extremely refreshing summer witbier that will open up all you taste buds to a true belgium style beer. This is an exceptional white beer but does not live up to some of their other concoctions. A very bubbly champagne like brew with everything you want if you are looking for a Belgium style beer.

Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of spices, yeast, and fruit. The flavor is sweet, spices, bananas, and a small bitter finish.
