I was surprised to find that there wasn’t much sediment-- too clear for a proper witbier, too pale yellow. Has the classic witbier aroma, albeit a bit mild. Flavor is too thin, greatly lacking in the citrus department that some of the better witbiers bring to mind. I guess being ’too mild’ is a good description for this beer. Being one of my favorite styles, and having brewed this one myself several times, AND having enjoyed other brews from Victory, I have to say that this one is a big disappointment. Allagash White is sitting right next to it on the shelf in my liquor store. Get that one instead. DrnkMcDermott (1860), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA

Pours golden with just a little haze, and one or two floaties. One finger head that dies off quickly. Taste has that usual ’nanner and clove character. A bit of brett sourness, methinks, and then an impression of salt. Seems to be a bit off, or I just don’t know my wits. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 14, 2006 Pours a sandy/golden with a light haze and a fizzy white head. Love that lemon aroma that leads the way to smoky incense and roasted grain, some patchoulli and sweat with just a hint of latex and new electronics. Watery palate carries fleeting doses of spicy yeasts with an overall lemon and sourdough flavor. Tongue-tingling as advertised. My wife and I both really enjoyed this one.

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 10, 2006 Creamy honey. Lots of corriander and a bit of lemon. Sweet and tart. Not dry enough. Too thin and watery. No body. I can’t take credit for this observation, but it really tastes like diapers. Diapers are not tasty. Not that there’s any off flavors, it just doesn’t come together well.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 10, 2006 Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a soft, white head. Nose was herbs and band-aids. Flavor was spicy and smooth. Citrus/lemon joined in the flavors to make a deliciously refreshing brew. 1FastSTi (2580), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Best by Oct. 25, 2006. The beer pours to a hazy glowing golden body with a nice white head. The aroma is full. Bready, bananas, estery, spicy yeast. Going against the grain on this one. I love the toasted toffee and yeasty flavor. Coriander and zesty lemon/orange oils are also present. I’m guessing that I’m drinking this a bit warm, but perhaps that’s why it’s good. The palate is refreshing, has a really good feel. Jabswitch (214), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Pale cloudy gold. Fairly wheaty aroma. Thinnish, quickly disappearing head. Citrusy in taste - a summer beer. I didn’t think it was quite up to Victory’s reputation. Point Brewery of Stevens Point WI makes as fine a product as this at an affordable price.
