Commercial Description:
Bold, spicy, menacingly delicious HopDevil takes on an entirely new dimension when subjected to a wild yeast fermentation. A sharp, sourish edge has been added by this fermentations that plays into the caramel sweet malt deliciously and creates complex interplay with citrus accented hops.

Bottle from South Bay Drugs: Creates a huge and thick formation of puffy white foam while the liquid is solid golden color. There is a soapy aroma that has me cringe a bit because of how close it smells like soap, but there are some spicy and zesty yeast notes that re-assure me this is actually a beer. Too many times as a kid where I had to wash my mouth out with soap, so it’s embedded in my memory bank which in turn is tied to my scent of smell, blah. The flavor is overly spiced and the yeast is just too strong and zesty for me to drink and enjoy. Also, there is a dominant taste of soap that is to blame on the yeast, but I guess some people really love this beer.

Deep gold body with a tall white head. Dry brett ridden nose, the barn, the hey, the must... the hops. The play between the earthy funk of the brett and the citrus/grapefruit of the IPA hops actually meshed nicely. Very dry body, soft caramel and honey notes up front.

75cl bottle from Whole Foods (Tampa, FL). Pours a generally clear amber to copper color with massive three finger bright white foamy head that settles slowly. Aroma is floral with notes of bread, yeast, spice, brett, caramel, honey, pepper, barnyard funk. Flavor is about the same. Medium body with a spicy, fruit, funk finish.

Bottled. Cloudy copper pour, yellowish, off-white, foamy head. Nose was funky, horseblanket, sandalwood. Flavor was musty, barnyard, malty, bitter dry finish. The brett outshines the hops, though the finish had some hop spiciness.

Excellent. Aroma is a beautiful marriage of hop and barnyard. Color is deep amber. Carbonation is high, giving a large, short-lived head, that leaves a trail of lace. Hop flavor shines through in the taste. This is followed by well integrated barnyard notes and persistent bitterness. Can I have another?

A damn fine beer. Hazy orange with a fluffy off white head. A white wine, sour, oak, and apricot aroma and taste nicely balanced between the sour and bitter and slightly dry in the finish.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a hazy copper color with an off white head. Aroma is slightly tart and sweet with a good deal of citrus, some medicinal/herbal stuff, toast, and spice. Flavor is tart and surprisingly bitter, earthy, grassy with some citrus, and a bitter bite at the end. Medium bodied with generous carbonation.

Orangish color with nice white head. Aroma and taste sour barnyard, bandaids, spices and wild yeast with a bite at the end of the taste. Overall pretty good but different.
