Commercial Description:
The tenacious grip of big, juicy hop aroma and character slides smoothly into rich, dark malts. This heavyweight battle between fresh, Yakima Valley hops and dark, roasted malts is resolved harmoniously as the flavors merge to deliver complex satisfaction with a warming edge. Enjoy the ‘twilight’ for the bright and brassy hops!

(Best by 10/14/2010) I am guessing that this was bottled on the 14th of Oct 2009. It is certainly fresh and green without a doubt. Hops hops and more hops. This beer dark color is deceptive, because the hops washout any of the malt underneath this beer. Very dry for an almost 9% beer too.

Bottle: The aroma consists of chocolate, roasted nuts, and lots of grapefruit and piney hops. It pours a very dark reddish-brown that is mostly transparent when held to the light along with a small off-white head that fades quickly to a thin film. The flavor starts with chocolate and faint caramel. The finish has moderate notes of roasted nuts along with pine and grapefruit hops. Medium bodied with mild carbonation .

Very hoppy character. Aroma is of hops and pine. Complex beer that finishes sharp. Has a lot of character... grassy, roasted, pine, slight hint of caramel. Very hoppy IPA with alittle extra edge.

Bottle, $2.25 from Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours a slightly murky brown with a 2" tan head. Sour hop notes in the nose. Flavors of soap and sour hops. OK, not great.

Don’t judge a beer by its label. Lable. Damn, they both look wrong. It must be all the beer I drunk. Drank? Shit. Thought this was going to be amber hop bomb, based on the... bottle. Pours dark frigging red brown with latte colored thick head. Nose is stinky sweet malt and hops. Stinks damnit. Taste is nice sharp malt and hops. Good spiciness. Wet sweet in mouth. Leaves gritty feel on palate. Hoppy and sweet, but with darkness behind. Interesting brew. Complex, but not amazing. Good beer. Whole is greater than sum of parts.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. The smell is hops, pine, caramel, and pretty good. The look is amber in color and has an ok off white head. the taste is bitterness, pine, caramel, and fruits.

Like an American Style Barley Wine with less body, still rich and sticky with a lot of crystal malt and some Munich character, hops are there mostly in flavor and bitterness, but are not crisp or identifiable. Typical Victory house yeast character is apparent is this one. Good but not outstanding. Needs more hop aroma for what they are going for, try more dry hops or more late addition hops. Cheers, Alex

Slammed this bastard from the bottle. Full body. Lots of bitterness upfront. Some pine needles and oranges and then WOAH. Holy alcohol. You can taste all 9%. Slammed a couple and felt good.

bottle poured with a mahogany color and a thick light brown head that retained a nice layer. aroma has both bitter and citrus hops, caramel, dark malt, and some nice resins. mouth feel is medium with a nice coating. flavor has a nice firm bitterness, sweet citrus hops, a good dark malted base, and some caramel sweetness. I can dig the hops they used in this one and it has a nice punch.
