CharlesDarwin (1406), State College, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 14, 2006 Bright yellow pour, with a wisp of creamy white. Aroma is a light waft of sweet malt sugars and hints of rock candy. Flavor is a sweet crisp run of nice pale malt, with a balancing parch of hops. Clean, refreshing and nicely drinkable. I give it high marks for a blond, having no detectable off-flavors, a nice sweet lemony malt flavor, good balance, good body, and good carbonation. That’s all I can ask for. However, based on previous ratings, I’m pretty certain that I’m chemically and physically incapable of detecting diacetyl. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Aug 23, 2006 5 oz draft sample at the brewpub, late July 2006. Very clear dull yellow-gold with a touch of head....nose is buttery corn and buttery butter, mmm diacetyl I can smell ya....thankfully on the tongue its much cleaner, malty and smooth, on the full/thick side to start, touches of vanilla cookie are nice....thins out too much at the finish; low natural-feeling carbonation. obisbeer (554), Madrid, Spain Aug 30, 2004 Clear Pale/gold with small dissapating head. Faint malt nose, with faint hops. Light weight, with sweet midpalate and hop spice on the finish.Solid though not too interesting.
