| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 23, 2006 12 oz bottle, from Blue Max in Burnsville, MN (Dec 2005. Deep molasses, somewhat thin-looking with lots of small bubbles creeping up the glass towards the smallish, lasting wisp of tan head....caramelized/baked apples, brown sugar and banana in the overtly sweet nose, berries and cream, quite lovely....the body is quite sweet at first, sticky but not syrupy, somewhat lactic/sour (growing towards the finish), with doughy yeast prominent, and a sort of cottony quality to the drying mouthfeel at the end, not enough to ruin it but a bit problematic....anise & grapy flavors throughout....above average for this brewer and drinkable enough, though not necessarily something I’d seek out again. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 28, 2005 Pours amber brown with a dissipating head. Big aroma of pear and apple. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2005 Bottle. Nose-lots of apples and taffy candy. This tastes like a thin dry cider. I liked this very much when I considered it as a cider. As an Abbey Dubbel, it is severely lacking.
