Swedish Style, eh? Aroma is roasty, creamy with notes of vanilla and banana. Pours dark, nearly black and thick. Head is thick and dark. Very tight bubbles, almost as if poured on nitro. Taste is roasty and malty. Vanilla and banana notes come in the middle, but the finish is roasted malt bitterness all the way. Alcohol is well hidden for an 8% beer. Out of the 4 or 5 beers I’ve had from Viking, I think this one is the best so far. Nice big beer, lots of flavor profiles to pick out and enjoy. This may not be a textbook Imperial Stout, but after all the labe DOES say "Swedish Style" Imperial Stout, not Russian. Good beer, I’d buy again.

Nov 2, 2008 Pours a pitch black with a small beige head. Aroma is very sweet dark fruit, licorice and chocolate. Flavor is the same but more nutty with a good malt backbone and decent bitterness to balance it all out. Medium body, oily texture. Finishes initlally dry but then has a sweeter after taste that hangs around a while.

Oct 29, 2008 A big and reach beer with some mixed blessings; thin in body and very light on carbonation (even for an Imperial Stout), but with some nice flavor and drinkability. Pretty good.
Color is (of course) black. Body is a bit thin. Carbonation is virtually non-existent; it looked like a glass of wine when I poured it into a tulip. Aroma was surprisingly robust to me given the thinness of body; it smelled to me a lot like bourbon. Flavor was definitely not bourbon-y; roasty with a lot of fruit notes that reminded me of raisins. Pretty good.
I would recommend this. Very liquor/spirit like.

Oct 27, 2008 Just maybe the most interesting Stout i have yet to taste. The smooth vinilla taste and velvet like feel sets it appart. Subtle brown sugar ans wood hints.

Oct 9, 2008 Bottle probably 2 years old. Pours black with a tan head. Nose is full of chocolate which I quite like. Taste is sweet and light and overall pretty nice, if not a bit too sweet.

Oct 6, 2008 Pours dark brownish black with thick lacy head. Heavy chocolate and brown sugar aroma... very sweet flavor but a bit light bodied for a stout.
