(12oz bottle) Small off-white head atop hazy apple juice body. Aroma is medium sweet, orange, cereal, rye, some diacetyl, light apple. Taste is medium sweet, grass, diacetyl, light rye. Low carbonation, light-medium body.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with Brigadier (thanks!). Poured a medium golden color wtih a smaller sized white head. Some small floaters. Aromas of grass, light citrus, grainy, honey comb, and I was getting some butteriness. Subtle tastes of the same but the butteriness isn’t there. Lightly tart finish.

Dark golden color with a decent off-white foamy lid. Fresh, citric/apple/pear/pine aroma. Slight candy corn sugary start in the flavor. Quite pleasant mild malt finish. Not as ’silky’ as some of the other ryes I have had, but the best beer of the three I have had from this brewery.

12 oz bottle, from Blue Max in Burnsville, MN (Dec 2005). Pours into my Christoffel stem glass a bit darker than the usual pils, dark amber verging on copper, with a moderate lasting creamy head and thin uneven lacing....nose lightly bready, mostly sweet honey, bit of grassy sharpness...smooth, balanced sweet-dry character on the tongue; that touch of rye is evident for sure, contributing some fruity sourness and adding interest to an otherwise fairly tame example...hops quite muted, medium-bodied, soft carbonation....drinkable and reasonably pleasant try at this style, but forgettable. An intriguing near-champagne tingliness in midpalate shows the beginnings of something really interesting but...doesn’t really go anywhere.

A medium gold body with a bright white head. The aroma had some smoked ham with a little bit of light tobacco. The taste was slightly sweet grass with some potatoes and crisp bell peppers in the finish. The body is smooth with plenty of sharp carbonation. A decent session style bee.r

Bottle: Surprising the hue is a deep golden color, not the blonde I expected. Rocky lasting head and some lace. The faint aroma has notes of buttery and toasted malts, aromatic hops, ripened apple, and lemongrass. The taste starts crisp with the rye noticeable with indeed adding depth to the basic malt and hops combo. The buttery and sweet corn undertone actually works in this beer. The feel isn’t anything special but again works for this beer. I am really shocked by this beer, outside the weak nose this beer punches my ticket in all other categories. Worth a try for sure. A bonus point in overall rating for the style, becuase when you find a pils you really like, it stands out more.

Picked up a single bottle from Blue Max in Burnsville, MN. Pours a pale golden yellow brew with an average white head. Dissolves fast and leaves behind a good lacing. Aroma has some grassy hops, roasted barley, some citrus and a little honey. Taste is a little grainy, some citrus tart and light carbonation. Finish is a dry citrus and a touch of sour apple.

12 oz bottle. Poured a partly cloudy light-medium golden with a short-lived white head. Slight skunk/vegetal aroma at first that gave way to caramel, honey, and pilsener malts as it warmed a bit. Grainy pils maltage, honey floral hops and something akin to sap came through in the flavor... which was a little odd, but tasty. A little sticky at the finish, with a decent mouthfeel otherwise. OK pilsener, but nothing special going on.
