Thick looking golden color liquid with a small fading white head. Aromas of overripe pears and airplane glue (not that I ever sniffed airplane glue). Apple/pear flavors with a dry white wine acidity, yet thick and sweet overbearing overripe fruit/hard cider flavors. Light honey dryness along with a hint of hops late in the finish, but still too cloying and unbalanced. The wife stopped by and concurred with the aroma description. She refused to partake stating she had had her bad communion wine for the day.

Picked up a single 22-oz bomber, 2004 Vintage, straight from the brewery in Dallas, Wisconsin. Pours a clear straw blonde brew with a fast dissolving white head that dissipates clean with no film or head. Aroma of pear and apple juice, some tart ice vinegar, and a touch of honey. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation with flavors of tart pears, light apple skin, honey and a near light Asti Spumante. Finish is slightly spritzy, light tart honey and apple flavors that quickly dissipates after the finish.

Thanks to Bob for sending this my way.. 2004 bomber, I believe. Poured crystal-clear brighter golden with a short, fizzy cap of white head. The aroma picked up dry honey that was heavily laden with green apples and floral notes.. quite sharp. The flavor was sharp once again with green apple really leading the way.. dry white grapes, honey, and abrasive boozy apple skin on the back and finish.. not very good. Very high, fizzy carbonation on the palate just popping the sharpness all over.. dry, alcohol-ey skins again on the finish. This had some good characteristics, but it didn’t come together.

Pours a clear yellow color with fizzy carbonation visible. Very honey-ish aroma. The flavor is honey (I should hope so), but more subdued than I figured it would be. A little on the syrupy side and I noticed a fair amount of apple taste as well. Very nice; I believe I will be returning to this one. Can’t wait to try the Mjod.

Looks like white wine. Aroma is also of wine, reminded me of vouvray. Also some fruit in the aroma. A light mead.

I was surprised at how light this was, almost like white wine, crystal clear. Beautiful fresh green apple aroma with a little bit of glue (Bu11zeye described it as paint thinner). Sweet flavor, more honey in the tasting than the aroma, then some cardboard notes, plus still more green apple. Interesting, anyway.

Sampled at the 3rd Annual "Between the Bluffs" Beer and Cheese Festival in La Crosse, WI. Appearance: Piss yellow. Non-existent head. Aroma is sweet honey and white grape. Flavor is way sweeter than Mjød in my opinion. White grapes or raisins. Sweet red apple. Honey flavor. Palate is tangy, sweet, slight lingering. Medium carbonation. Not near as good as Viking’s Mjød.
