Gitchee Gumee Brewfest 2005. I’m fairly inmpressed with this brew, despite what others have said. The aroma is a bit spicy and that continues on the palate. The flavor is overbearingly of raw cane sugar, but for some reason it’s not distracting here.

Sampled at the March 25th Tosa Gathering, courtesy of JPDIPSO: Clear copper brown with a thin, whispy off-white head. Very sweet caramel malty aroma with nice lager yeast presence. Has a sweet chewy caramel start, but with a more thin sugary mouthfeel. Could be thicker and more balanced, but I like the sweetness.

Light brown body. Toffee/chocolate aroma with macintosh apple notes. Similarly sweet flavor, chocolate, coffee dryness. Excellent stuff!

Light brown to copper color with a moderate beige head with fluffy cloud like lacing. Baked apples and caramel aromas. Nose does have the signature scent of of a bock with a hint of alcohol and floral hops. Fairly thin in feel. Heavily malt in flavor, with dark toast and caramel. Finish is quick, but has a mild maple sap and dried sweet herb quality. Sweetness and malt seem to get stronger the farther one goes into this brew. Linger suddenly has a chocolate component. A respectable effort.

Dark, dark brown in color with a smallish white head. Aroma of some caramel, leather and some noticeable alcohol. Flavor of stale (burnt?) caramel, apple, then whoa...major cardboard finish. Feels a little thin with very light carbination. It gets better as it warms.

Pours a dark brown, small white head. Aroma of apples, cherries and roasted malt. Flavor is sweet malt, with caramel, fruits and a grassy hoppy thing goin on’. Finish is somewhat lacking. Thanks to JpDipso for sharing this one

Clear caramel color. Smells of molasses and caramel malts, and a tiny whiff of alcohol. Taste is smooth and oaky with a sweet bourbon tang and a hint of apples. Very mellow. Thanks to JPDipso for this!

Aroma: Dark brown sugar, so-so strength, oak. Appearance: light carbonation, reddish brown color, thin white head, decent lacing. Flavor: Mild grass hop, brown sugar, slight apple. Palate: Sticky, light body, acedic finish. Had this at the Tosa tasting.
