Poured a clear medium orange with a short white head and light particulate suspended in there. The aroma was of very sweet caramel, hints of tangerine, and some autumny, leafy hops. Flavor was very, very sweet... not sure exactly what was in there.. maybe mildly-smoked caramel.. sour lemon.. sourdough bread.. didn’t gel. Sweet on the palate with sour notes around... adequate carbonation... too sweet. Indy (87), Hopkins, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2006 Hazy golden/amber pour, thin white head. Aroma is weak, faintly yeasty with some malty sweetness. Flavor is decent, malty and somewhat sweet. Felt very watered down, though. benfergy (46), Valley City, North Dakota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 25, 2006 Golden appetizing appearance. Yeastlike aroma. Quite malty. Very smooth going down. Not quite as good halfway through, but still an excellent bock beer. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 19, 2006 Cute play on the name, but another disappointment from Viking. Deep reddish brown body capped by a light tan head. Aroma of caramel apples, cinnamon rolls, Whoppers, and Rice Chex. (Maybe I’m just hungry.) Smooth and medium bodied. The flavor was expectedly sweet but had a distracting tin note to it. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 22, 2006 12 oz bottle, from Blue Max in Burnsville, MN (Dec 2005). Cellar temperature in an Allagash glass. Warm, ruddy amber color, slightly hazy-oily, with smallish lasting white soupy head....really, really faint nose at first offers a touch of caramel and dry herbs....somewhat more success in the flavor, though there isn’t anything spectacular going on here; some decent caramel sweetness to the toasty malt, barest hint of smoky bitterness towards the finish....fairly substantial, lightly syrupy body does dry out a bit again....overall effect is drinkable, smooth and simple with little real character. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Nov 26, 2005 Another clever name from Viking (and I like the labels on their 12-oz. line). Cheap corn, light malty aroma, pretty bland. Watery, metallic, notes of Rice Krispies. Golden amber, white ring of head. Late metallic bitterness for a finish. Not as enjoyable as some of the other Viking beers I had tonight. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 26, 2005 Bottle. Ahhh. If only the fine folks at VBC were as clever with their brewing technique as they were with their names. Light cereal cheap malt nose. Taste-thin, apple, cardboard, malt, cereal, unpleasant finish. Unremarkable in every way. Pailhead (2606), Allen Park, Michigan, USA

Pours a hazy orange with an insignificant white head. Flavor is moderately caramel with light apple. Hint of citrus in the background. Moderate floral hop finish.
