Sep 26, 2006 Nice dark amber color,small off white head that faded quickly leaving little behind.The aroma was Lightly malty with a mild roasty side some hints of fruit and caramel.The flavor was pleasant but mild,malty and somewhat roasty with a decent but light caramel and a slight hint of fruit in there as well.The hops are there but very mild with maybe just a slight hint of alcohol in the end.Very smooth and easy to drink brew,it could use a might more alcohol IMO but over all it does quite well.

Apr 28, 2004 amber... little head. sweet caramel odor. you can sense some alcohol in your nose. nice and sweet, with a smooth, slightly bitter finish. tastes a bit like smokey caramel apple with a tinge of iron. well balanced and plenty of character. not as watery as most bocks i've tried. fun to drink and pretty darn good.

Mar 28, 2005 Golden, semi-hazy in appearance. Smells of pine and apples. Taste reaffirms the apple suspicion, along with some bread-like characteristics. Somewhat like a watered down Manhattan. There’s some warming vanilla notes to it, and a honey-like smoothness. Carbonation is rather flat, but I relatively enjoyed this one. A unique bock. Thanks to JPDipso for this one.

Sep 29, 2007 Pretty good stuff. Fairly thick and goes down smooooth. Certainly a carmel aspect there that is quite nice. Would drink this again

Apr 25, 2006 Golden appetizing appearance. Yeastlike aroma. Quite malty. Very smooth going down. Not quite as good halfway through, but still an excellent bock beer.

May 11, 2007 Updated: Nov 21, 2007Pours a darkish amber with a small head. Aroma is candied light malts, yeasts, fermented fruits. Flavor is sugary and quite flavorable. As with all Viking brews there buttery hints. Candied malts, light spice and a light nuttiness. Mouthfeel is a tad on the watery side but still pretty good.

Jun 5, 2007 Thanks to buckybeer for the bottle. Hazy orange with just a thin wisp of bubbles. Aroma of caramel, butterscotch and earth. Taste is mostly caramel sweet, with the butterscotch and a touch of hops. Sticky and rich. Medium bodied. It kind of grows on you.

May 16, 2007 12 ounce bottle. Shaker glass. Amber with a small beige head. Aroma was malt and vinegar. Yes vinegar. Taste was roast malt and caramel with a touch of vinegar and hops. Actually this one was a lot better than I expected given my first impression from the aroma.
