Malt and hops with a hint of pine on the body. For an IPA, this needs some serious hops. Probably the first disappointing viking beer I’ve had. Skyview (4076), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 30, 2007 Stopped at the Fiddler’s Inn in Dallas, WI during Wisconsin trip #3. This brew is on tap. Pours a deep hazy peach colored amber brew with a fine thickness of white head that dissolves slowly to a fine lacing. Aroma has a hint of grapefruit and sweet pine hops. Taste is fairly vacant which is a little disappointing for an IPA. Palate is a little sweet and hardly any hop bite and does not even match its aroma. Finish is watery and then gritty. Did someone fall asleep at the brew kettle? This is one of the few IPA beers that I had to concentrate too much to perceive some flavor. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 29, 2007 Malty aroma, musty hops. Sweet heavy body, some juicy hops. Actually unbalanced toward the malt side! That and low carb makes this a little hard to drink. Bummer. lweiberg (89), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 22, 2007 Appealing to midwesterners with Scandinavian heritage (I guess), this Viking is a watery, cheap tasting IPA that doesn’t have the full, hoppy body that I’ve come to expect from the style. Tolerable if this is the only IPA you can get but that won’t likely ever be the case, except perhaps if you happen to be in Bumfart, Wisconsin with no way out. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2007 12oz bottle. Clear dark amber body, not much head. Perumfy, floral dandelion flower and tulip aroma - pretty nice. The flavor takes on the same dandelion character along with sharp dandelion stem juice and some grassiness. I don’t really enjoy this but it gets bonus points for being different. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 2, 2007 Not much head; looks flat. Slightly dirty gold body. Almost white wine-like hop in aroma. Very green grassy white wine, orange fruity character. Aroma is really interesting, yet odd. Flavor turns down, though not unexpectedly. Stale straw infested malt, but after a while the fruit comes out.. tropical mostly. Odd, but not too bad. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 12, 2006 Pours a medium copper with small white head. IPA???? Not quite sure what to say here. The only thing that was above average was the appearance.
