BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Oct 31, 2007 ABR 2007. Apple hints on a grainy nose. Sweet body with a little roasted malt. A little grainy on the body as well. joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA Oct 8, 2007 bottle ABR 07. Too me this tasted like an overly sweet oktoberfest, and now I see why, its supposed to be a tripel as well. Not really at the quality you would think, but solid nonetheless. tennisjoel (931), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA Oct 1, 2007 Autumn Brew Review ’07
Interesting take here. Supposedly an O-fest with a Belgian tripel. I get some o-fest qualities but the tripel isn’t as prevalent. Carameled apple aroma. Something is a little off in the flavor, reminicent of many Viking brews. Not bad, but not something I’d likely try more than once. incutrav (576), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA Oct 1, 2007 whoa, this was a weird beer. Fairly sweet with some apple and plum? flavor in there. never would have guessed this was 10%, quite smooth. A good sipper from Viking. I dont think this is available in bottles, as far as I know. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Sep 30, 2007 Sampled at the 2007 Autumn Brew Review in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pours a clear brown amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a clean top. Aroma of caramel malt, some yeast funk and a touch of tart green apples. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with a Belgian multi-grain malt, some flowery hops and a distinct sour apple flavor. Finish is slightly dry at first and then a lingering tart apple aftertaste. A pleseant experience that would easily remind me of a Wisconsin Oktoberfest at one of their many apple orchards.
