Nice hazy orangy dark brown color, small to no head. Bittersweet flavors, like aromas with the coffee being the primary flavor. Thin body, lite creamy mouthfeel, roasted bitter finish. Ok beer Enjoyed flavor and finish. Thanks Clark. CharlesDarwin (1873), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Apr 9, 2005 Gitchee Gumee Brewfest 2005. Strong aromas of fresh ground decaf coffee. The flavor continues this run, but adds some very creamy milk and nuts to this combo, to create an interesting mix. Unfortunately, it loses some on the back end with a watery ending. antisnobJP (275), St. Michael, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 6, 2005 Bottle. Muddy nearly black color that lets no discernable light through it. Small, short lived tan head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate malts dominated by an ashtray-like smokiness. Has a smoky coffee flavor with a slight residual sweetness and no hop aromas or flavors. Unexpectedly thin mouthfeel. Grassy hops come out when burping, oddly enough. Not a bad idea, just doesn’t seem to come together right. Flavors need to meld a little more. More aging? Maybe quality varies by batch. davesarman (159), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 19, 2005 Label descrbes this as "A Coffee Flavored Oatmeal Milk Porter". Aroma of coffee with creamer, that must be the "milk" part of the beer? Roasted malt as well. Pours very dark brown, nearly black. Mild carbonation, but a nice dense, tan head forms, but fades fairly quickly. Taste profile has chocolate and coffee notes. Roasted malt. A smoothness that is undoubtedly from the oatmeal. This is a very nice, robust, yet drinkable beer. Probably the best I’ve had so far from Viking. A breakfast beer, indeed! GrainBeltGuzzler (249), Goodhue, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 2, 2005 looks fairly thick coming out of the bottle but a tan head never really gets fully materialized. tastes of a kind of odd smooth mocha, slightly off after taste, a slight grainy taste in the mix, not too bad, but not really a bomber I want to finish by myself ChrisPants (317), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 25, 2005 Pours oily-tiny skimcoat of head. Aroma of semi-sweet chocolate. Flavor of light skim mocha (made with coffee, not espresso), leading into a deceptively light and thin body with creamy mouthfeel. Finish is sweet coffee and roasty oats. Tasty. 5000 (2900), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 4, 2005 Bottle pours a very dark brown, nearly black, small fizzly light brown head, with spotty lacing.   Coffee nose, along with hints of chocolate milk, light hops, and a bit of oatmeal.   Medium body, fairly smooth mouthfeel.   Finishes semi-sweet, with a bit of barnyard and coffee.   Interesting combination.   Quite tasty it was.   Thanks goes out to MrFacto for the trade!
