Commercial Description:
Our darkest, heaviest beer we’ve ever brewed. Rich malty flavor with coffee overtones and as a Russian Imperialist, you know that it is high in alcohol. A style that keeps you warm whether in Siberia or Minnesota.

Pours a coffee/espresso breown with dark tan head. Aroma is quite peppery/spicy with licorice undertones. Flavor is very mild (surprising) notes of pepper and nut undertones but still bland. Body is very light with medium carbs.

Winterfest 2009. I was impressed by this imperial stout. This is a thick, black beer, very little carbonation. Some smoke in the aroma and flavor. Sugar, moderately roasted malt, some chocolate. Great palate. I would buy this if they bottled.

On draught during the Winterfest 2009 in St Paul, MN. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a decent sized tan head that quickly dissipates to a tan ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, some flowery hops a touch of chocolate, red berries and dark pitted fruits. Taste is medium to full bodied with a complex flavor of toasted dark malt, a touch of apple cider, candi sugar and cotton candy. Finish is smooth, semi-sweet with aftertastes of caramel, chocolate and some apple.
