Big spice aroma. Copper mid brown coloured with a spicy clove flavour. A little bitterness in a crisp malt finish. CaptainCougar (5488), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Earthy musty spice aroma reminds me of Anchor Our Special Ale, but with a little less spice. Body starts with a thin lightly sweet ginger spice and earthy malt flavor with a touch of spruce. Finishes thin and dry. A decent spiced winter beer that hides its abv well. Cornfield (4942), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

Under a heap of spicing there’s a dark caramel base in the aroma. The spices - cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, pine - dominate the flavor but a drying bitterness emerges in the finish. Like eating a Christmas cookie baked with hops.

Chestnut hued with a minimal head and little lace. The body is a bit thin but makes it more drinakable. Ginger, clove, nutmeg, pepper, carmel, smoked malts appear on the nose. The taste was similar with a nicely spiced and mild sweet mainframe with some additional bitterness and chalky finish. Not too bad and much better than my other beer from this brewery. A nice light XMAS beer, surprising. DuffMan (2763), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada

Listed on the card as a brown ale, but with one sip it becomes apparent that this is more of a holiday-spice beer. Chocolate, cinnamon, mace, with a subtle raisin fruit note in the finish. Not what I expected, but a pleasant surprise in the end. 1FastSTi (2560), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2005 DenverLogan brought this. It pours to a smokey chocolatey plaintains. Spices like nutmeg and cinnamon. Almost has an eggnog like quality. Very unique and quite good. The beer is a weak looking brown color. No head. Tastes like what I suspect a Christmas wreath would taste. Silphium (2137), Haslett, Michigan, USA

Aroma of ginger, nutmeg, light notes of anise, and other spices, a bit sweet. Ginger, nutmeg, and anise also dominate the flavor profile. The body was flat, lifeless, and rather unappealing. There was a muted hollow quality to the flavor profile, too. This didn’t cut it for me. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA
