The body is dark, dark brown, nearly black, and it sports a creamy light tan head. Nice lacing. It’s a bit thin, but both nose and taste have lightly roasted malts & barley, old coffee, and a splash of milk chocolate. Pretty clean aftertaste. Not bad.

Draught. Pours opaque with a medium creamy tan head and lined, spotty lacing. Aroma is paper, chalky dark roasted chocolate malt and cocoa with leathery yeast and coffee notes. Medium bitterness, dark roasted chocolate malt and coffee, cardboard slightly sour yeast flavor, caramel malt and low sweetness. Dark bodied, oily and thin palate.

On tap at the brew pub. Pours dark brown. Has a slight creamy head that is beige in color. As with most of the beers here, there is no aroma. Flavor produces a roasted coffee taste that is both mellow and hearty - I figure this means it is well balanced.

A solid stout. Not a huge amount of alcohol like im used to when i get a stout, cause in cali all the stouts are damn near imperials. Good mix of coffee and chocolate leaning towards the chocolate side of the balance. nice aroma. had it on tap out of season which is a cool thing that they do at the brewery, they have beers all year at random times.

Black pour with decent brown head. Roasty chocolate and coffee nose. Bitter coffee flavor with more roasty chocolate. Thin body.

(draught) Deep black color, but tan head faded very quickly. Faint roast malt aromas. Flavor is roast coffee with hints of licorice and dark chocolate. Body is a bit thin. Unfortunately it had a faint taste of vinegar in the finish that took away from the overall beer.
