Commercial Description:

English: Oak Aged version of Dark Brown Ale. Aged in a whisky barrel.

Bottle. Huge frothy head with medium duration. High carbonation. Hard to keep inside bottle, since foam just keeps pouring out of bottle. Quite a lot of smoke and tar in aroma and taste. Quite unbalanced and onedimensional. Somewhere behind the tar, there might be some caramel.

Bottle 50cl.
Light unclear medium to dark brown color with a large, frothy - rocky, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is smoke - peat, oak, sweet vanilla notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090527]

Bottle. Pours deep brown coloured with a big off white head. Aromas of smoke, wood, cabbage and caramel. Flavours of ash, caramel, smoke and pre-smoked cigar. Not tasty at all. Nasty.

Bottle. Huge creamy large lasting head with excellent lacing. Hazy light cloudy dark brown body. Aroma of cask wood, smoke, tar, charcoal, licorice, brown sugar and tobacco. Medium/full body, oily and sticky with a very lively carbonation. Moderate sweet and bitter. Has a sweet start, then a bitter punch and in the end a smoky finish.

Bottled @ Olfestival 09 pre-tasting. Aroma is very smoked and has a load of peat. Black coloured beer with an off-white-beige head. The taste has ashtray and peat. Very heavy smoke on a very light beer. quite unbalanced. nice experiment though, but the ligh bodied beer isn’t really suited to support the heavy smokey taste.

Flaske: Fantastisk eksperiment.

Bottle, bought @ Havnens Vin & Tobak, Vejle.
Pours deep red-brown with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma has a shit**ad of smoke an piet. Light chocolate. Highish carbonation, a bit weak mouthfeel. Flavour is all smoke, no balance at all. Not good.
