What I got instead was a beer where the orange peel overwhelmed the taste of everything else. Tasted too much like watered down orange juice. Bov (5455), Bienne, Switzerland
| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Nov 20, 2004 cloudy and awful amber-orange colour, the initial foam disappears immediately, strong and agressiv coriander aroma, notes of orange juice and cough syrup, overcarbonated, acidic and astringent, aftertaste of unfermented malt with more coriander - medicinal and just plain bad ! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 1, 2004 Hazy, golden hue, small disappearing head.
Aroma, huge citrus, large orange, very sweet and airy, with minor spice notes, as well, rather ripe and pungent.
Taste, sharp, tasty, flush with citric flavor, some spice notes, as well. Finish is rather brief, body is medium/light, texture is rather ordinary. Actually, I like it better than the words previous indicate...the flavor is so bright and pronounced, so crisp and shiny, that I’ve got to crank the ranking up a notch. Really tasty, though it deviates from the normal type of witbier, I think. Mmmm....if you like oranges, I MEAN, really like oranges, try this one out!

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 7, 2004 Bottle @ Map Room, Chicago. Light and adequate, this reminded me of a lesser Pranqster. Large foamy white head over cloudy gold-yellow body. Smelled of lemon rind and banana, but not too strong. Acidic, but the taste danced around fruitiness into a vague spiciness. No appreciable finish. Seems like a nice enough cooler for a warm day. Rastacouere (5555), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 20, 2004 Cloudy yellow, goldenish. Superb lacing, sticky and long-lasting. Beautiful. Weird aroma, ashes, lemon zest, baking ginger, coconut.. very spicy and original. Pretty tart mouthfeel. Lemon juice like at times with a palate not near as nice as the aroma. Sharp body, gueuze-like with high carbonation and cider characteristics. Different wit, but not one of my favorite. It may have a bit too much age. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 14, 2004 Steamed and charged out of the bottle in a flood of froth and fizz. The result was something that looked more like Duvel than Hoegaarden - but darker than both. The aroma was of wheat and heavy yeast. The taste lacked the tartness and volume of coriander to be a true witbier. What was there instead was a wonderful quaffable golden ale that is lively on in the glass and on the tongue. Thick white head with big bubble. clove and honey arom,a, lightly herbal. Very big on orange and slightly sweet. Light medicinal taste. Lighte to medium bodied. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2004 Sampled at the Southside Beer Expo, and I see the Tanner boys have been beating me to rating them. That’s okay. Nicely fizzy and lemony. The citrus notes make it a little sour, like a Berliner Weiss more than a wit. But a very pleasing flavor.
