Gives a nice deep fruit aroma that is well balanced by earthy hops. The taste is very well balanced all the way through with rich malt, deep fruits, and a light hop note on the finish. yespr (12407), Copenhagen O, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 28, 2009 50cl dark glass bottle. Copper colour, medium, fairly stable soapy white head. Intense aroma of sweet fruit and caramel. Sweet, fruity malts dominate the taste at first, with a touch of raisins. After that, a strong bitterness of roasted malt sets in, and the finish is dry and hoppy. Medium-bodied ale with smooth, but not oily mouth feel. Less "in-your.face" bitter than some other brews (like e.g. St Peter’s Best Bitter), but a strong, smoky presence in the taste ensures a certain gravity and "integrity", so to speak. Really nice ale. joe19612 (701), camberley, Surrey, England
