Poperinge (351), Cowtown, Alberta, Canada Sep 28, 2007 Updated: Mar 4, 2008Page 484 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide. Nutty, maltly and memorable. Had Wadworth’s tied pub in Laycock sadly I only had the bottled version . Only 183 of MJ’s Classic 500 Brews to go. johndoughty (1660), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Jul 21, 2007 Bottle. Brownish appearance and very malty.Pleasantly full bodied with some nutiness. Low carbonation and very pleasant to drink. JorisPPattyn (4499), Antwerpen, Belgium Mar 8, 2006 Quite aged bottle Clear, deep amber, small off-white head. Very malty, oxydized nose, with a weird chlorine streak. Oxydized , malty, biscuity, and a very sweet, sugary finish. Just a touch vinous, higher alcohols. Light, alcoholwarming, dryish finish all the same. Time has not been clement on this one - never meant to age? Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Dec 21, 2005 Updated: Jul 31, 2007Fruity bubblegum nose, nutty malts and caramel - unimpressively sweet on the whole. Light mouthfeel and simplistic flavours compared to the more rounded feel of the cask version. 2.5
