Bottle. Almost black pour with an ample tan head. Aroma has some roast, molasses, and some hints of really ripe blackberries. Flavor is somewhat toasty, a bit bitter and finishes with an odd flavor. Just an ok beer.

12 ounce bottle. Pours black with some nice brown head. The nose has plenty of oats with some berry esters and herbal notes. Flavor is nice. Light drinkable roast with an oaty sweetness. The fruity yeast and herds from the hops play well. Full body and dry finish. Not sure why other not like it.

Mini growler from Half-Time. Pours a deep clean black with a medium sized mocha head that fades rather quickly. Roasted malt, sugar, chocolate, and a bit of alcohol. Thin bodied and lacking much complexity. Ends with a burnt bitter note, and a bit of cereal.

I’m surprised that this isn’t rated a bit higher. A bit on the hoppy side for an oatmeal stout but this is still quite rich with a nice roastiness. Finish is smooth and satisfying. Not too complicated but a solid session stout.

Thanks to my wife for bringing this back from NY. It poured dark, thick, with a good dark head. It delivers with a baking chocolate essence, maybe a bit of coffee and a sweet finish. (#3484, 11/2008)

Pours dark brown with a huge light brown head. Smells of sweet malt. Tastes sugary, tarte and underattenuated.

There seems to be a very wide range of ratings on this one. Bottle, pours black with a tan head. Roasted malt nose. Dry flavor, little bit of chocolate, light oat flavor. I didn’t think it was anything amazing, seemed very plain and a little thin.

(Bottle). Malty chocolate and oatmeal aroma. Black body, creamy light brown head. Taste is not pleasant....sourness and nondescript grains. Definitely off-putting.
