There seems to be a very wide range of ratings on this one. Bottle, pours black with a tan head. Roasted malt nose. Dry flavor, little bit of chocolate, light oat flavor. I didn’t think it was anything amazing, seemed very plain and a little thin.

(Bottle). Malty chocolate and oatmeal aroma. Black body, creamy light brown head. Taste is not pleasant....sourness and nondescript grains. Definitely off-putting.

12 oz bottle, from brewery. Pours a very dark brown, almost black with a small tight bubbled brown head. Roasty nose that’s a little grainy with some roasted peanuts and light oats. The flavor is pretty dry with milk chocolate, burnt malt, and fairly heavy handed hopping. A little metallic on the finish that’s also a little astringent. Can’t say that the oats have much of an impact on either flavor or the mouth feel. Medium bodied with fizzy prickly carbonation, lingering astringent finish. Overall, not much of a sweet stout despite having the oats, it’s just a little too heavy on the burnt malt to be very drinkable.

Bottle... Pours pitch black with a huge, frothy, well-tanned, everlasting head. Diminishes to a small, permanent, creamy layer. The aroma is all molasses, chocolate and espresso. Full-bodied and very creamy with soft carbonation. Medium-sweet with heaps of molasses and roasted nuts layered over nudges of coffee and chocolate. Deeply roasted, bittersweet finish. A big SHOUT goes out to juiceisloose for passing this surprisingly good beer on to me!

Bottle. Black with thin creamy head. I really enjoyed this one. I like stouts and thought this one had a unique sweetness.

12 ounce bottle labeled Wagner Valley Oatmeal Stout. Black with ridiculous huge fizzy head. Aroma of chocolate dishwater. Bitter watery chocolate ashy flavor with way too much carbonation. Inferior to even the most amateur homebrews.

Pours a thick black with a small chocolate head. Aroma was oatmeal, menthol, and roasted oats. Taste was so menthol that it was like drinking Skoal.

This was an okay oatmeal stout. I am not really big on the style but this was not bad at all.
