The aroma has notes of roasted malt and some licorice/cough medicine. The flavour has a roasted bitterness and some licorice notes, but IMO it’s body is thin and lack complexity and the nice features of an oatmeal stout. 2037 hopdog (5608), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2008 Bottle... Pours pitch black with a huge, frothy, well-tanned, everlasting head. Diminishes to a small, permanent, creamy layer. The aroma is all molasses, chocolate and espresso. Full-bodied and very creamy with soft carbonation. Medium-sweet with heaps of molasses and roasted nuts layered over nudges of coffee and chocolate. Deeply roasted, bittersweet finish. A big SHOUT goes out to juiceisloose for passing this surprisingly good beer on to me! MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
