emerica56 (434), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Mar 25, 2008 Pours a dark black color with a thin head that fades almost instantly. There is some minor laceing along the sides of the glass. The nose has some strong earth tones and you can detect some hop acidity but not much. there is also a minor hint of roasted malt. The initial flavor is very bitter and earthy, you can also taste some minor malted lactose sugar but the flavor is not that pleasing to the tounge. After finishing the beer all that is left on the palate is bitter and burnt roasted barley.
malrubius (363), USA Jun 23, 2008 12 ounce bottle labeled Wagner Valley Oatmeal Stout. Black with ridiculous huge fizzy head. Aroma of chocolate dishwater. Bitter watery chocolate ashy flavor with way too much carbonation. Inferior to even the most amateur homebrews. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA Apr 21, 2008 Pours a thick black with a small chocolate head. Aroma was oatmeal, menthol, and roasted oats. Taste was so menthol that it was like drinking Skoal. Prostman (1076), Pennsylvania, USA Apr 7, 2008 This was an okay oatmeal stout. I am not really big on the style but this was not bad at all. hoplover406 (180), Crofton, Maryland, USA Apr 7, 2008 Updated: Apr 27, 2008Bottle. Label just says Oatmeal Stout, nothing about ’Caywood Station’. Pours black with small, thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, oats and smoke with a slight hint of earthy hops. Body is thin. Taste was average except for a metallic aftertaste.
