Commercial Description:
From the 1700s through the early 1900s steamboats were used to transport people and produce the length of Seneca Lake. If there were passengers at a dock a white flag was flown during the day and a red flag in the evening. Amber Lager is a malty, full-bodied Vienna style lager. Its strong malt flavor and aroma arise from generous amounts of Vienna and Caramel malts, complimented by a delicate aroma of Tettnang and Hallertau hops. Wagner Brewing Company is pleased to announce that we received an award for excellence for Wagner Valley Dockside Amber Lager.

Nice copper color with minimal head. Slight aroma of caramel, malts and a bit of hops. Taste is a nice mix of caramel, malts and slight hops. A bit watery.

sampled at the brewery, and found this to be a pretty good vienna. Caramel (deep amber in color). Aroma is clean and malty, with caramel, toasty malts, and german floral hops. Taste is also clean and smooth with alot of caramel/lightly toasted malts- nice balance with bittering and flavoring hops. Finishes smooth and malty. I think this was my favorite of the beers I sampled.

Bottle (12oz). Deep clear ruby-amber with a smallish fizzy off-white head (3+). For once a WG that doesn’t foam up insanely, Moderately sweet lightly toasted cereal malt aroma, sweet citrus juice and mild floral hops. The taste follows - toasty, a hint of chocolate to go with cereal/rye grain and juicy malt, enough floral bitterness to balance. Average but appropriate body, nicely carbonated, very crisp and lightly bitter finish - very good beer, one of their better ones.

12oz bottle. Pours a radiant, cola-brown color with the slightest reddish tinge; light tan head with patchy lacing. Toasty malts and caramel in the aroma; a hint of citrus. This tastes wonderful: medium-to-full mouthfeel, showing plenty of cola and a creamy nuttiness; lively carbonation, with a touch of citrus and a near-perfect mouthfeel; terribly drinkable, flavorful Vienna (probably my favorite of the few I’ve had). Medium, toasted malt and nutty finish. I could drink this all day.

On tap at Mahars. Poured brown with a small head. Aroma was weak, but pleasantly sweet. Flavor very full sweetness, very tasty brew.

Absolutely gorgeous. Huge tan head on a clear cherry coke colored beer. Nose of vanilla, classic floral hops, and sweet malts. Taste of malts, vanilla, toffee, and bitter hops, with a long bitter finish. A little thin in the mouth, and dry, almost tannic, almost nutty, almost astringent.
