Commercial Description:
Grace House is the dwelling on the grounds of the winery and brewery and was constructed in the 1840s. Like the style of the Grace House, this ale is brewed in a more delicate style. We blend wheat and barley malts to produce this light-bodied golden ale. With just a touch of sweetness from locally-produced clover honey, it finishes clean and smooth with a slightly fruity aroma.

Pours with big foamy head and a clear apple juice color (stole that description from HogTownHarry) with ample visible bubbles of carbonation. Very strong head that takes a long time to subside but the lacing is not sticky. Aroma is very sharp and crisp with German-esque floral hops and touches of caramel sweetness. Some present malt biscuit in there as well. Taste is again sharp from the carbonation and a floral/grassiness that’s so refreshing. A light body but NOT a water-y mouthfeel, which is medium bodied with a strong stinging carbonation. The flavor finishes with a light bitterness and a bubbling at the back of the throat. So refreshing, quaffable, and returnable, I don’t know what it is about this brewer but I seem to like most of their stuff and the rest of the raters do not agree. 12oz bottle, Hopfen-Weisse straightened weizen glass.

Bottle (12oz). Like most WVs, it foamed up a MoFo - slightly amberish pale gold with a fizzy white head - looks like apple juice. Dry aroma, sharp peppery yeast - was this made in Québec? - stale and very harsh on the nose, and there’s something like oxidized apple cores in there too. The taste is nasty - cheap, sugary, harsh, some sort of fruity syrup gone sour, dry sharp yeast - ugh. Light body, syrupy, bitter harsh finish, way overcarbonated. Ugh.

Brewery Tasting: Off yellow beer. Acutally suprisingly tasteless. Not a good start

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, dull medium-yellow color; minimal off-white head that quickly disappears. Very light aroma, showing sugar and honey, but not much of either. Medium mouthfeel: mostly candy sugar and a very light, sticky honey presence; not offensive, but not really all that much of anything; mild citrus bitterness at the finish.

Cloudy yellow color with lots of carbonation. Initial pour produces a large head of white bubbles. Quickly reduces to a thin white film of large bubbles. Aroma is a little sweet, with a touch of citrus. Flavor is kinda standard american wheat with just a touch more sweetness than normal. Probably sells well at the brewery. Non offensive, but uninspiring.

Honey wheat’s are not my bag, but this one isn’t too bad. A tad bland, with a cloudy golden color and a good creamy head, tastes biscuity with a tad of heather and a mild after taste of pepper. An inoffensive little armchair beer.

sample at the brwery - Tastes light and breezy, with grassy notes throughout. A nice picnic beer, not much more.

Came out of the bottle like gangbusters. Big white foamy head on top of hazy orange copper ale. The aroma was pretty stale old bar rag. Tasted like miller lite with some honey squeezin’s added for a hint flavor.
