Commercial Description:
Grace House is the dwelling on the grounds of the winery and brewery and was constructed in the 1840s. Like the style of the Grace House, this ale is brewed in a more delicate style. We blend wheat and barley malts to produce this light-bodied golden ale. With just a touch of sweetness from locally-produced clover honey, it finishes clean and smooth with a slightly fruity aroma.

Ouch is all I have to say. It looked good with a slight bubbly touch and small head but the clove-like honey doesn’t seem to meld well with the maltiness of the ale. I couldn’t finish the sample. Balance would be nice. Our ancestors must have had better brews.

On tap at the brewery/winery. Poured a clear yellow color with some fizzy white head. Aroma pretty plain and slightly grassy. Flavor very watery, slightly sweet and honeyish. Overall, not much there.

Appearance not very exciting, yellow with minimal head. Aroma of lemon and wheat and somewhat floral. Slight honey in palate but overall a bit watery. Okay.

I’t summertime, so you know what that means. Yes, to have a beer to cool you down and quench your thirst after cutting the lawn.(I took a jog too) I placed some lemon in this 1st and the large head had aroma of lemon of course. That’s the point, to help it along. I chugged it down fine. It did it’s job. I’ve got a few more. I’ll rerate soon.

Clear pale yellow with medium carbonation and medium bubbly off-white head. Aroma is malty, slight skunk with just a touch of honey sweetness. Flavor is malt, bitter, skunky and a touch of a sweet finish. I don’t need any more of this beer.

Hazy golden ale with a thin creamy white head, ot much carbonation left. Aroma of sweet honey and lemon cough drops, chemical. In mouth, the honey is very much in your face, a bit too much even, due to the rather light body. Not a complete waste, Ill cook shrimps with the rest of the beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours slightly cloudy straw yellow with a weak white head. Fairly nondescropt beer. Slightly sweet flavor, which I assume is from the honey. Nothing special about this one.

Tried beer as sample at Wagner, and purchased a mixed 6 pack of WVBC beers, including several Grace House Honey Wheat. Very little head, medicinal aroma, perfume flavor. Tried one and quickly reached for a homebrew stout to take the taste away <G>.
