Commercial Description:
Bright sunrise orange in color, this American IPA is boldly hopped with East Kent Goldings, Cascade and locally grown hop varieties to give an intense yet powerfully smooth bitterness. The subtle caramel maltiness only accents the citrus hop highlights. Dry hopped with an incredible 2-1/2 pounds per barrel, this American style IPA is handcrafted to be extraordinarily refreshing.

Pours orange, slightly hazy with medium, bubbly, lacing head. Aroma of light pine, hint of grapefruit and hop. Bitter hop flavor and creamy palate.

Thanks to Fatty. Pours a slightly hazy copper amber with an off white fluffy head that left some lacing. Aroma was just a little off at first. Picked up some pine, slight citrus and caramel. Flavor of pine, slight bitterness with some malts to help balance.

102105 12 oz bottle. This isn’t *horrible*, it just tastes weird compared to my favorite IPAs. Grapefruity and sicky sweet simultaneously.

Re-rate on June 28, 2006: Had this on tap at Clark’s Ale House in Syracuse, NY; and it was much better than the bottle I had last fall . . .

Re-rate on October 8, 2006: Note -- I’ve had a couple bottles of this go off like an over-carbonated land-mine. Can become impossible to pour without a foot (literally) of styrofoam head, and a waste of time to drink out of the bottle (a "sin" anyway). Never seen anything like it -- a definite turn-off.

On tap at the Chapter House in Ithaca, NY. Didn’t smell of much. Tastes of malts and mildly sweet gummy bears. Typical color, weak lace.

Bottle acquired in trade with weeare138 (thanks!). Poured a dark and cloudy amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, flowers, grapefruit with some malts. Tastes of citrus, oranges, and caramel malts. Medium bitter with a sweet balance. Weaker body.

Pours deep orange/ amber with a tiny white head. Weak floral hop, malt aroma. Taste is better, big earthy hops, nice malt to back it up. Somewhat sweet on the finish as well as spiced. An OK ipa.

Poured a dark amber with a large long lasting off white head. Aroma of hops that are part citrus and part floral. Sweet malt makes up the other half of the aroma. Malt flavor with earthiness and citrus hops running through. Bitter acidic finish. Kind of flat mouthfeel.
