Citrusy aroma and flavor to boot. Yellow-gold color. Served too cold and has little head. Not outstanding in any way but enjoyable, quaffable beer with session potential. Finishes dry. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jan 23, 2007 Nice amber color, with a nice caramel sweet aroma. Lite off white head with very little carbonization. A little on the sweet end of the Pale spectrum, but nicely ballenced. A nice after dinner beer. Lubiere (4518), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 4, 2005 Hazy amber in colour with a thick froathy off-white head, lacing. Nice aroma of caramle and c-hops, light citrusy notes. In mouth, classic pale ale with nice malt base, and nice mix of bitterness and grapefruit, dryish, and lingering. Light to medium in bodied, but quite quaffable. Bottle is about a year old. CapFlu (3482), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 30, 2004 (Bottle) Pours a very thin, white head and a non-carbonated amber body. Nose is nicely hopped with mild malt playing into the fold. Very hoppy flavour with a mild tinniness. Last cascade hop bitterness in the finish. Good. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2004 The classic grapefruity C-hop fragrance portends an all-hop affair...Oranges surge in the mouth to diversify the linear hoppy path and earth accompanies them not far behind...The C-hops dominate the palate and sometimes reach chemical freshener level if you look deeply...The clean body is perfect for tasty quenching, which I think to be this pale ale’s purpose... beerbuzzmontreal (2911), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 10, 2004 sample at brewery. The pale is a gold color with a nice hop aroma. The flavor is quite dry, leaving the hops somewhat out of balance and astringent. DCopperfields (144), Alabama, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 9, 2004 Pours your standard brassy yellow pale ale color with minimal head and spotty lacing.
Aroma is of freshly roasted malt and some refined hip floral essence.
Wow. Much more bitter up front than I was expecting, considering the nose I got. Mouthfeel is medium, and this beer is lacking the malt sweetness and body required, I feel, to combat that hop bitterness. The bitterness itself is not the round, full one I favor either. I am trying to think which kind of hops they use. I know they are NY hops, so cascade?
The finish is crisp and dry. Not a terribly good beer, sorry to say.
