Brewtopia ’04. Poured amber with a smallish head. Something about this stuff I really didn’t care for. Maybe the high alcohol wasn’t masked very nicely. Taste was all alcohol up front followed with roasted chocolate and sweet, sticky malt. Not my cup ’o tea.

(Brewtopia04) Sparkling copper body with virtually no head. Aroma is sweet, fruity (cherry, orange, some grape), sticky caramel. Taste is rich, sweet, cherry, some grapefruit, light orange, herbal. Finish is medium alcohol burn. Full body.

Pours a clear dark brown, with a small tan head. Aroma is faint and sweet. Creamy feel. Taste is very malty, with just a hint of hops. Finish has a hint of sourness. Alcohol is very detectable. An adequate entry into the lacking dopplebock ranks, but certainly not an Ayinger.

Clear chestnut with a thin, off-white head. A simple, subtle aroma that leans toward the high-malt profile. Caramel, nuts, chocolate, raisins, thick malt and little else. Smooth, creamy body the feels quite supple on the tongue. The flavors are pleasant and slightly sweet, though leave a little to be desired. Good, but certainly not great.

Ugh. normally I wouldn't rate a beer that is this off, but it was served to me at the brewery, so maybe they think that this is how it is supposed to taste. It is obnoxiously infested with diacetyl, giving it the flavor of butterscotch lifesaver. the only reason it gets any points is that there are hints of a good beer underneath.

Pours a clear mahogany with a very minute whitea head--0.5cm at best. Aroma is malty, smokey with some caramel/chocolate. Start and middle are very smokey and dominated by maltiness. Finish is sweet chocolate, like a sweet stout. Palate is good. I enjoyed this beer very much.

Red brown beer with little head. Sweet malty aroma with vinous overtones. Smokey sweet malts with oranges and vanilla...alcool warmth swishes in the mooth after...good sustained body...great beer.7-4-8-4-15

August 26,2006 at Greene’s Tavern. Reddish brown ale with a thin off white head. Sweet malt aroma with notes of prunes with alcohol warmth. In mouth, a smooth light chocolate with bananas, lightly nutty, and warming alcohol. 7-3-8-3-14

Enjoyable brew. Yummy. Malty. Deep reddish orange in color. Matly aroma with hints of fruit. The alcohol blends well in the beer. Not noticable. Really good.
