Gift from hophead75. No head, ruby red color, lucid. Aroma is pale lager with rotten cherries, oh oh oh and vomit. Taste is icky-sweet caramel malts with long offensive lagered corn. Very light body but sooo not drinkable. 12oz bottle, Rodenbach Grand Cru tulip glass. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 10, 2007 sampled at the brewery, deep amber/brown in color. This started off well enough in the aroma department, alot of caramel, and clean. Taste is where it started going down hill, as it was thin bodied, and the malts got a bit cardboardy. A bit under average for the style, I was suprised as Wagner is known for their german styles and the Vienna lager was quite good.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 9, 2007 Dark amber with tiny tan head. Tart caramel malts are so dominant in this beer. Flavour is sweet caramel with a light rosted lingering. Almost has a cloying sweetness to it. Light acidic finish with a syrup oily body. A little gross. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 30, 2007 Bottle (12oz). Absolutely gorgeous clear deep ruby-amber with a small fizzy beige head. Smells like a juicy, sweet, leafy english strong or harvest ale - cereal malt, alcohol, hand-rubbed walnut furniture - perhaps a little too sweet, but very appealing. The taste follows - old hardwood, sweet boozy cereal malt, mouldy forest dustiness - again, a little too sweet, but still quite good (6+). Sticky, slightly boozy mouthfeel, adequately carbonated and some astringent bitterness underneath the sticky sweetness. I really liked it - and it didn’t foam like a beast when I opened it the way most of their brews do. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA

Plenty of nougat and dried fruit in the aroma. Relaxed carbonation. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: plenty of chewy malts (nougat and caramel) with an excellent density of flavor; hints of wet malts. Chewy, full-flavored doppelbock. Medium, nougaty finish, with hints of butterscotch. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA
