deep red/brown color. Syrupy aroma, littlle to no froth. Immediate taste is candy malty sweetness, a bit of a musty smell at the end.

Tap at TAP NY 2007: Has an amberish brown color with a tan ring for head. Sweet malt aroma with some maple notes and chocolate as well; yet it seems artificial. The flavor has lots of malt, yet it’s lacking body. There’s a strange metallic flavor going on, along with no malt depth, just an artiicial astringency. Then there’s an abrupt bitter finish. Not balanced at all.

Nice deep ruby pour with a thin wispy tan head. Mal/Alcohol aroma. Malty sweet but not cloying, a touch fizzy and body is far too light for a Dopplebock, faily well balanced, but somwhat boring.

12oz. bottle. Dark ruby color with a thin head that quickly disappeared. Slightly sweet smell with hints of strawberry. Very sweet taste, however it is thin and syrupy. Lots of cherry and malts. Nothing special but not terrible.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear red color with not much of a head. Very light carbonation. Aroma is very sweet and malty with some hints of toffee, caramel, cherries, and some raisins. Flavor is very sweet and rich with a very strange finish. Almost like cough syrup. Dark fruits and chocolate covered cherries also in the flavor. A little thin and needs a little more flavor.

Decent sized light beige head of fine bubbles from the vigorous pour. Minimal carbonation. Beautiful dark port mahagony color. Sweet and malty aroma. Lots of black cherry, and caramle malts. Flavor is sweet and syrupy. Tastes like grape cough syrup. Palate is quite flat and lifeless in the mouth. Some raisins and prunes and sweet malts. Little alcohol warming. Finishes sweet and flat. Not a very good dopplebock.

Pours medium brown with minimal tan head. Aroma has plenty of malt and caramel with noticeable alcohol, as well. Full, creamy body. Flavor is sweet caramel, malts, dark fruit and alcohol. Finishes sweet with some alcohol. A little too sweet, but not a bad beer.

Deep amber/brown in colour, very small wispy beige coloured head, no lacing. The aroma is very malty, lots of gingerbread and toffee, very light alcohol, lightly sweet. The flavour is again of light alcohol, gingerbread, toffee, quite sweet, some cookie dough, dark fruits and some chocolate. Rich and chewy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes with some alcohol related warmth and a lingering rich sweetness. I would be interested to find out the age of the bottle as slight oxidation is setting in.

355ml bottle obtained in a trade with <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>jah noth, thanks Dan.
