Haslinger (464), Syracuse, New York, USA Jun 21, 2008 tastes like a whopper ball malty and creamy a lot of fruit in the aftertaste. Almost tastes like a Cadbury easter egg. Delicious. kramer17801 (1846), sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 14, 2008 12 oz bottle, via BA beertruth. Pours a clear dark amber body with a small fizzy beige head. A thin wispy covering lasted for the duration. The nose is nicely malty and fairly clean, there’s a bit of fig like fruitiness and a light hint of vegetables. The flavor is quite sweet with fairly heavy maltiness and a light kick of alcohol on the finish. Medium bodied with just a very slight stickiness and moderate fizzy carbonation. I wish it were a bit more chewy. Overall, this was an OK effort, but it just wasn’t all the way there. redlight (1030), Winter Park, Florida, USA Jan 10, 2008 Malty aroma, slightly cereal-like. Pours dark amber with no head. Nice malt flavor! Caramelly and slightly toasty, with a nice spicy hop flavor. Very good dopplebock very smooth!
