Commercial Description:
This is a more concentrated version of our Sled dog recipe. This rich 10%Alc by vol. bock is a malty, full bodied lager with minor hop character. Expect it to agewell in your cellar for months, even years to come. Enjoy with hearty fare.

12oz bottle. I worked for Wagner’s for two years. During my 2 years, I spent much time at the fabled "House," where general cacophony occurred nightly. Upon exploring the basement of The House, a few coworkers and myself discovered several bottles of beer, aged nearly 5 years. These bottles, and The House, had belonged to the owner of Wanger’s- legendary Bill Wagner. We drank these beers like little regard for history, and soon regretted it. These beers had aged like a cheap Parisian trollop. 1 of these lethal brews was enough to cause fall-down drunkenness. Nevertheless, we soldiered on...

Bottle: Poured a reddish brown with not much head. The aroma was malty with some brown sugar malts. The flavor was smooth, some dark fruits, caramel, molasses, brown sugar and a subtle hop character. Overall, the best the brewery has to offer.

I preferred this to their dopplebock. Big but it hides the substantial alcohol percentage quite well. Taste is actually quite balanced between the malt and hops for the style...this would probably age fairly well.

750 mL bottle, pours a medium dark brown with a 1 inch tan head. Aroma is sweet with hints of caramel and nuts. Flavor is sweet and nutty up front, but surprisingly has a roasty, somewhat dry finish. Tasty.

(bottle - 750 ml) Ruby red pour with a very thin layer of foam that disappears quickly. Aroma is very sweet with lots of malts, caramel, raisins, and molasses. Flavor is light and sweet with a good amount of raisins, plums, molasses, and caramel. Not much bitterness throughout. The finish is a bit tart and sweet. Alcohol is hidden well. Not a bad doppelbock, but nothing unusual either.

Thanks to goldtwins for the trade. The beer is a hazy dark brownish-amber color with a medium thin beige head that recedes steadily. Spotty lacing. Big doughy malty aroma with some citrus in the background. Rich body with a malty character and a solid hops counterpoint. Notes of grapefruit and some sweet fruits in the background. The finish is dryer than expected with a malt taste and a fruity aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Had this in Warner’s tasting room. Poured a clear ruby color with a beige head. The aroma was of dark fruits and malt. The flavor was very fruity, malty with caramel. The beer had a smooth mouth feel and a medium body. This was great.

Mostly mollasses taste. No a complicated bock, malty sweet though not overally sweet. Just brown and not all that much head. Drinkable, but rather disapointing.
