Shockingly good. Nose certainly has some ’soy sauce’ to it but that is covered by a woody fruitiness I can’t quite place. Perhaps slightly reminiscent of something like Goudenband but with a lot more malt. Caramel, slight alcohol but nothing that would suggest 11% Flavor is Caramel, fruit, rich malt, some hops. A bit of alcohol in the finish. Nice creamy mouthfeel, low but present carbonation. I really need to buy more of this.

Courtesy of Boboski. Very still dark ruddy brown that is totally headless no matter how much you agitate it. Syrupy caramel, raisin, brown sugar and hot alcohol. Finishes with a slightly bitter, burnt toasty, camaelized flavor. The stillness is a bit of turn off to me.

Dark color, nice malty nose. Super sweet, thick and warming. Really nice, malty, yet balanced flavor. some hints of fruit, coffee and caramel. A nice doppelbock for sure.

On tap at Barcade 2005 version. Pours a nice deep brown/amber with decent tan head. The aroma is soy sauce. The flavor is unbalanced flavors of bitter soysauce, acidic passion fruit background. Overall it’s tart, and probably definitly needs aging, may mature nicely.

Pour is dark brown with ruby highlights and boasts a thin dense tan head...smell is toasty malty with lots of raisins and prunes...taste is sweet and malty...some vegetal flavors are there but very subdued...no alcoholic flavors at all really...good, but something seems off about it and I can’t quite put my finger on it...

A bit of a surprise. They got this beer up to 11% with no hint of its strength, other than the fact that kind of sugary sweetness typically hides danger. Touch nutty, good dried fruit and caramel maltiness. Not bad at all.

750ml. Nice pour with good lace and head. Nose was nonexistant even when warm. Didn’t really look like a bock, more brown than red. Too sweet for me. Seems like an unrefined variant of a Belgian strong ale.

Dark brown pour with a moderate sized head. Aroma is lotsa darker malts, mainly molasses. Caramel is there too, lotsa sweetness. Sticky smooth body. Big and balanced, but not great.
