Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a fading tan head over a brown body. Aroma of dry coffee grounds, and a bit of alcohol. Taste is nutshells and coffee grounds. Very dry roast. Dry and thin mouthfeel.

Bottle at pbsmooth’s tasting. Pours a dark brown/black. Decent roasted malt aroma. Not picking up much maple here. Light licorice, molassses/maple induced sweetness counter the roastiness nicely. Taste better than aroma.Body could use a little more oomph but otherwise not too bad

(bottle - 12 oz) Dark black pour with no head and very light carbonation. Aroma is very light and sweet with some light hints of molasses, caramel, roasted malts, and the faintest hint of maple syrup. Flavor is roasted malts at the beginning with some light smokey notes and a lightly sweet finish. The maple is very light in the flavor. Finishes sweet and mildly roasty. A bit watery and could’ve used some more maple.

Bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a deep, dark ruby-brown with a small diminishing frothy tan head. Slightly sweet aroma of roasted malt, light hops, light smoke and yeah, some maple syrup. Flavour’s roasty along with lightly burnt sugar, some maple syrup and a bit of smoke. Thin bodied. Decent -- a fine beer.

HogTownHarry’s bottle, shared with Blankboy and I. Appearance: Very dark brown, almost black, almost non existent brown head. Aroma: light maple, light toffee, slight grassy notes. Flavour: Malt, very slight maple syrup, bitterish finish. Okay.

Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy and garthicus. Deep, near-opaque ruby-brown, smallish frothy diminishing tan head. Sweet aroma, hints of woodsmoke and slightly burnt bitterness. Taste is sugar-sweet, harsh, burnt treacle and odd annoying harsh bitterness - a bit like soda fountain syrup. Thin, sticky body, sharply carbonated, harsh aftertaste - no.... didn’t really care for it.

12 oz. bottle - purchased at Oliver’s in Albany; pours black with cream colored head; sugary sweet aromas of maple and candy dominate any roasted malt characteristics; syrupy texture and body is a little on the thin side; maple sweetness is strong and a little odd

Bottled. Poured very deep brown with a tall, rich tan head. The aroma picked up dusty toffee, maple, and faint detergent.. not too much goodness here. The flavor was markedly better with dark chocolate, maple syrup, and molasses with low-to-medium roast to it.. dry, smoked oak and peat along with herbal bitterness on the edges.. picked up some caramel to pair with molasses on the finish. High carbonation actually worked well here.. long, sweet, roasty and smoky finish. Solid stuff.
