Pour was very thick and dark brown, creamy head, dark tan, left very thick lacing. Nose was big= lots of caramel and sweet syrup hints.
Ah, now the taste very thick mouth feel. There was sweet syrup and molasses, some roasted bits, and a fine hop tail. Very nice brew here, one I would love to drink again. cbrixius (136), Newberrytown, Pennsylvania, USA

Sweet malt with hints of coffee and maple syrup, maybe even milk chocolate. I am ending up pretty impressed with this Finger Lakes brewery’s selection. jonnabrix (136), Newberrytown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 22, 2006 Pours beautfully: deep dark, almost black, with a small tan head. Aroma is lots of maple, and some roasted malt. The flavor is very malty, with sweet syrup and molasses, maybe a little chocolate, and some bitter coffee at the end. Palate is slightly creamy and smooth. Not your typical porter, and quite enjoyable! xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 20, 2006 This actually has a pungent maple aroma, which is impressive, smells just like a batch of pancakes - perfect for a noon sunday breakfast beer. It’s sweet yet got an interesting hoppy roast finish. This is actually a nice beer and with the right food pairings could be special. It’s a bit on the sweet side, but.. it’s supposed to be maple beer. The malt doesn’t taste particularly smoked, only in the remotest way. There is a definite molasses character. This has to be something you’re up to try, but it pretty much lives sup to the expectation you’ll have based on the name and label. Reminds me of my northern American heritage, I just want to take it directly to the winter in NY and Vermont and just cozy up with it. Nice big head too. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA

Aromas of roasted malts and sweet maple syrup. Flavor contains many roasted notes but also a sweet milk chocolate flavor coupled with a nice maple syrup flavor that blends with some vanilla. Creamy on the palate and pretty drinkable. Not a normal porter but an interesting one no doubt. I liked it! NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

<P>
Aroma is roasty with mild smoky notes and sweet maple syrup filling the nose. Body is flat black and holds a slowly diminishing thumb thick mocha head. Fore is watery with some nuttiness and mild vanilla /molasses sweetness. Finishes is mellow and shallow with little else to remark on than some vague coffee/nutty notes and a mild creaminess. Just not getting it done flavor wise, but it is at least not offensive. beastiefan2k (1605), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA

A very nice present aroma of sweetness (maple?), roasty coffee, and chocolate milk. The taste is no where as good as the aroma. Some hints of roasty-coffee. Leaves a slight coffee-like bitterness.
Had this yesterday with the Terrapin WnB Imp Stout, and the regular Wagner Stout. This was definitely the best, that great aroma came out and it was a joy to drink. puzzl (2646), New York, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 31, 2006 Pours a beautiful black with a thick brown head. Aroma is very rich coffee and maple; unfortunately, the strong points stop there. Taste starts out nice but ends up a sweet, fizzy mess. Little complexity; all the nice porter taste is masked my sweet, cheap maple. Still,not too bad.
