RichardGretton (2680), Leicestershire, England Jul 14, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown beer with a strong head. The aroma is roasted and the flavour is roasted, mildy hopped and lightly toffee. Overall a good beer.
Mes_and_Sim (4476), Highgate, Greater London, England Mar 16, 2008 A Mes rate: Gravicask at Sussex Beer Festival. Dark golden brown with a thin film topping. Fairly green malt and plenty of fruit. Nice dry chocolate finish. A little thin on the ground when it comes to character but still a decent drop. Dark brown with no head. Aromas are earthy malts, smoky with chocolate and some herbal notes. Flavours are chocolate malts with some citrus tang. Quite herbal and floral with resinous fruitiness and hints of metal towards the finish. Dark chocolate bitterness on the aftertaste. a cross between and old ale and a porter. Pretty good.
