On tap @ Belmont Station. This beer is black with a dark tan head that is thick and velvety. Aroma is coffee and roasted malt. Flavor is nearly burnt caramel, coffee, a little vanilla, and some balancing hops. Not a hugely hoppy "IPA" but very drinkable and a nice change of pace..

Taster – Spring Beer Festival – Portland, OR
Aroma: Huge IPA aroma with a dark malt backing.
Appearance: Dark brown in color, clear with a thin head.
Flavor: The hops where strong and the malt was just as. This was well balanced and very flavorful with lots of citrus also.
Palate: Dry finish, with a Good IIPA Mouthfeel.
Overall: Another awesome Walking man brew. This was a over the top beer. The IIPA for others to be like. AWESOME.

What a name. Its sizeist, racist, and homophobic, but its a wonderful beer. Huge body, like the Homo Erectus has a very prominent hop profile without being dominatingly bitter. Alcoholic, all around amazing.

7/19/08 On draught at the Brewpub. Aroma is sweet floral PNW hops forward with good malt sweetness for balance. Appearance is nearly black brown with a well maintained cream color head. Flavor is earthy roast malt with some starchy bittering flavors. Mouthfeel is full bodied with a moderate carb texture. Overall, very cool, with much more roast than your average dark ipa.

Draught. Poured black with thin lasting head. Aroma of hops and flowers. Full hoppy flavours with notes of roast and more malt. Lingering full all over the tongue finish. Same high recommendation as the original Homo Erectus

On tap at Belmont Station. Pours dark brown, edges have a copper hue, medium tan head. Interesting mix, it all worked really well together, roasted chocolate character up front, big hopped up finish. Some beers of this type get to sharp of a bitterness, the big hops amplified by a dry sharp coffee bitterness. This beer managed to balance it well, actually leaving it even easier on the palate then normal homoerectus.

On tap at Belmont Station in Portland, OR--Poured a rich black-brown body with a light tinge of amber and next to no head. Nutty, roasty, hoppy nose. Bitter, crispy, sweet and nutty. Finished like a very hoppy Porter. Quite good.
